Well, ladies and gentlemen, I’m happy to say that I received hard copies today of my new book, Scripture and the Life of God: Why the Bible Matters Today More Than Ever. My goal in this book is to talk about Scripture as a resource that leads us into salvation. Through Scripture, we can know God more fully. I don’t mean that we will simply know more about God, but really know God, the way we know a friend, a parent, a husband or wife. And, moreover, through our encounter with Scripture, we can be known by God. The Holy Spirit meets us in these pages and leads us into the very life of the Trinity. In the process, we are changed as people, recovering the very image of God that is tarnished by sin. I do hope you’ll pick up a copy, and if you have comments, please do send them my way.

Sounds like there will be a lot of “character development” at the expense of fast-paced action, but I ordered a copy anyway.

To know God and to make Him known, Isn’t that what is the core of life? Isn’t that a summary of what a Christian is?
From your blogs I observe you are a detailed and logical thinker. Is this book written for the seeker primarily, or to give a firmer foundation for Christian faith to those who believe?
I will look out for your response, Dave.

Geoff, I think either could use it, but it might be better for folks who have some acquaintance with Christian belief.
